Giving at Providence
“Now concerning the collection for the saints: as I directed the churches of Galatia, so you also are to do. On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper, so that there will be no collecting when I come. And when I arrive, I will send those whom you accredit by letter to carry your gift to Jerusalem. 1 Cor 16:1-3”
Our God is the maker of all things and the giver of all good gifts. When we give to the church, we return some of what he has given us as an act of worship and thanksgiving to him. At Providence you can give during the morning worship service, or you can use the button below to make a secure one-time gift or set up regular withdrawals.
When you give to Providence your offering can be designated to one of three funds. Most gifts should go to the General Fund. The General Fund is used to support the ministries of our church. We use it to pay our pastor, run and maintain our facilities, and support the work of missions in our Presbytery and denomination. We set the budget for the General Fund at the annual congregational meeting near the end of January.
The Building Fund is a separate fund used for large-scale building projects. In 2019 we used the Building Fund to put a new roof on the church building. Currently we have a team working to produce a plan to meet the future needs of our growing congregation.
The Deacons’ Fund is used to assist the poor and needy of our congregation and our community. Gifts and offerings received during the Deacons’ Offering following the Lord’s Supper go into this fund.
We believe giving financially to the church is an act of worship to our Savior. We offer secure online giving as a convenience to our members and friends. If you give online, you may still want to place an empty envelope in the offering plate as a reminder of your offering. You can use the button below to give a secure, one-time gift, or to set up recurring gifts
